EarthTrek Expeditions began in 1977 as an outdoor recreation tour operator. Running whitewater rafting trips on the American River eventually became our passion as well as creating one of the best river camps in the Coloma-Lotus Valley. Over the years, our business has evolved to become what it is today.
In 2016 we teamed up with OARS, one of the most respected rafting outfitters in the country, to take over the operation of our river trips while we concentrate on making the camping aspect of your trip the very best. When you book a trip with us, the rafting portion of the trip will be ran by OARS and we are most confident that your experience on the river will be top notch.

EarthTrek Expeditions was founded in 1977 by Jerry Ashburn and continues on today with the help of his daughter Laura and wife Susan. You will find them working together preparing your meals in the kitchen, keeping the grounds clean and tidy, and always delighted to provide you with the best camping experience and hospitality at their American River camp.
